Tesla announces they they will make a gas powered vehicle

Cnet News is reporting that Tesla, a San Carols, California company will make a gas/electric powered vehicle.  The company will produce two basic types of its Whitestar sedan, to be delivered at the end of 2009.  One version of the sedan will be an electric and the second version will be a range extended version commonly referred to as REV.  The REV version is for people who are concerned with the electric version dying out at the 400 mile mark or earlier. The REV version has a small gas motor that will recharge the battery.  The batteries on these types of vehicles are only meant to go about 40-50 miles.  Tesla The vehicles are extended to sell for $50,000 - $70,000 range and Tesla states they will come out with a most cost minded vehicle.
