Traveling on September 11th. Seven years after

As I head out for the airport today, I realize for the first time that I am flying on September 11th. I am generally not supersticious, but as everyone appears to look more at unrest and quiet today.
Generally the airport is a buzz with cell phones and smart devices buzzing, but not so much today. It seems today people are paying more attention to their surroundings, listening more intently to conversations taking place next to them.
Yes, today is different than the other flying days of the year. As I sit in LAX termnial, I remember September 11, 2001 as if it were yesterday and as I look at the faces of the travelers around me they do too.
